Ain't No Bum

Ain't No Bum is a story about a young man's quest to overcome the condemnation of his notorious father. Although determined, he soon discovers that in his world of economic chaos and turmoil he will need more than just his abundant drive and willpower. Fortunately, he finds a loving partner who not only lightens his load but also saves him - from himself.

From the book:
"I had to constantly keep my eye on him and boot his ass now and again or he didn't do diddly. He complained about everything. I ain't never seen anyone so worthless in all my life, except one of them bums layin' around the town square."
"Aren't you being a might bit harsh, Frank? Seems to me it's kinda hard to figure the character of a young fella when he's only ten and after just one disappointin' time?"
"No sir, I expected out of him the same as my pa did me."
So starts the life-long condemnation of Milt McCoy by his notorious father, Frank. And, so begins Milt's quest to prove him wrong. Not an easy task while the world is in economic chaos and embroiled in war.
Unless willpower, hope and love are present.
For Milt, hope is eternal, willpower comes to the fore, and the love of good woman saves him - from himself.
